How the Marketplace Works

Your Products. Your Business. A Shared Marketplace.

Approved vendors receive designated retail space within the Backyard Homestead Marketplace. Our team handles the day-to-day customer checkout process, allowing vendors to maintain a retail presence without having to personally staff their booth during normal store hours.

Vendor participation generally includes:

Vendors remain responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory, presentation, labeling, pricing, and compliance applicable to the products they offer.

Who We're Looking For

Backyard Homestead Marketplace is designed to showcase products from independent businesses and individuals who complement the character of our marketplace and community.

This may include local foods and cottage-produced goods, farm and homestead products, handmade items, crafts, home goods, gifts, apparel, woodworking, personal-care products, locally produced specialty items, and other products consistent with the marketplace.

Participation and individual products are subject to approval. Vendors are responsible for meeting applicable licensing, labeling, food-safety, tax, insurance, or other legal requirements associated with their particular products or business.

Becoming a vendor is about more than renting shelf space.

Backyard Homestead Marketplace is organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community initiative designed to encourage entrepreneurship, provide opportunities for small businesses, promote practical skills and education, and help further charitable efforts benefiting veterans and first responders.

When our vendors grow, the marketplace grows—and that gives us more opportunities to serve the community around us.
