Backyard Homestead Marketplace exists to strengthen our community by creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs, makers, growers, artisans, crafters, and small businesses while supporting veterans and first responders.
Our mission is built around a simple belief: strong communities are created when neighbors have opportunities to support one another.
Through our nonprofit marketplace, community programs, educational opportunities, and charitable activities, we work to connect people, encourage local entrepreneurship, share practical knowledge, and turn everyday community participation into a greater impact.
Supporting Local Entrepreneurs
Small businesses often begin with a skill, an idea, or a product made around a kitchen table, in a workshop, on a farm, or in a backyard.
Backyard Homestead Marketplace provides an accessible retail environment where independent vendors can introduce their products to the community, build their customer base, and grow their businesses without the expense and responsibility of operating a traditional storefront of their own.
By bringing these businesses together in one marketplace, we give customers another opportunity to shop local, support local families, and keep more of their purchasing dollars within the community.
Supporting Veterans & First Responders
Service to others is an important part of who we are.
Backyard Homestead Marketplace is organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting veterans and first responders and the people and programs that serve these communities.
After supporting the responsible operation of the organization and its charitable programs, available resources may be used to further our nonprofit mission through charitable activities, community programs, partnerships, and support benefiting veterans and first responders.
Our goal is to create a sustainable organization where community participation helps generate opportunities to give back to those who have served our country and our communities.
Education, Self-Reliance & Community
Our mission extends beyond the marketplace.
We believe practical knowledge is worth preserving and sharing. Through future workshops, demonstrations, educational programs, community events, and informational resources, Backyard Homestead Marketplace seeks to encourage skills that help individuals and families become more capable and self-reliant.
From gardening and food preservation to traditional skills, home-based entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, and other practical knowledge, we want the Marketplace to become a place where neighbors can both share what they know and learn from one another.
